- Coordinates all Civil Service Commission meeting requests and presentations with Sheriff and administrative staff, law enforcement and corrections associations. Researches agenda items.
- Oversees the Sheriff’s Office employee grievance process. Investigates employee grievances and helps resolve conflicts. Coordinates grievance hearings with Civil Service Commissioners, County Attorney’s Office, all involved parties with their attorneys.
- Reviews and ensures that policies and procedures within the Commission are consistent with state and federal policies, laws and regulations, and recommends changes as necessary.
- Coordinates with vendors and the Sheriff's Office to plan, develop, and implement the written and verbal promotional testing process.
- Responsible for administrative duties for the Civil Service Commission. Maintains and organizes information related to activities and meetings.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration or directly related field.
- 3 years job related experience.
- Strong computer and typing skills with a working knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, and databases.
- Management and supervisory experience with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with others.
- Capability to complete assigned tasks within tight deadlines and prioritize own/others’ work.
STARTING SALARY RANGE: $25.71 - $32.14 hourly based on qualifications
