Position Overview
Reinforce Physical Therapy is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our esteemed team in Stockton, California. This full-time role is designed for individuals who are passionate about enhancing the quality of life for patients through effective rehabilitation practices. As a PTA, you will collaborate closely with licensed Physical Therapists and contribute directly to patient recovery and rehabilitation in a dynamic hospital setting.

Work Environment
This onsite position predominantly takes place within a hospital environment, where you will interact with patients undergoing various orthopedic rehabilitation programs. Our facility boasts a supportive atmosphere, encouraging effective communication and teamwork among all staff members. You will have the opportunity to work during regular business hours, with shifts running Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM or 8 AM to 4 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule.
Key Responsibilities
As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant, your core responsibilities will include:
- Assisting Physical Therapists in performing comprehensive evaluations to assess patients' physical limitations and needs.
- Implementing individualized treatment plans designed by Physical Therapists aimed at improving patients’ mobility, strength, and functional abilities.
- Administering hands-on manual therapy techniques, including therapeutic exercises and utilization of modalities, to effectively treat musculoskeletal and neurological disorders.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team comprising physicians, occupational therapists, and other specialists to ensure continuity and comprehensiveness of patient care.
- Educating patients and their families about home exercise regimens, the importance of adaptive equipment, and strategies for preventing injuries.
- Maintaining precise and timely documentation of patient progress, interventions performed, and any recommendations for discharge in alignment with regulatory guidelines and company protocols.
- Engaging in continuous professional development through training sessions and pursuing advanced certifications to enhance treatment efficacy.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your role will specifically focus on treating patients recovering from orthopedic surgery, sports injuries, and chronic conditions like arthritis. You will work with a diverse patient population that may include individuals recovering from joint replacements, fractures, and musculoskeletal disorders. Your impact in their lives will be evident as you guide them through tailored rehabilitation processes aimed at restoring mobility and independence.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Graduation from a CAPTE-Accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
- Possession of a valid California PTA license and an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Physical Therapy.
- Demonstrable excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and team members.
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills to facilitate patient recovery.
Preferred Experience
While a minimum of one year of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is required, candidates with specialized training or prior experience in orthopedic rehabilitation settings will be given preference. Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and rehabilitation technology will also be advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
