Position Objective:
To ensure only quality products are being produced while constantly striving to meet our customers' expectations of Zero Defects.
Essential Functions:
- Perform assigned in-process and final inspections.
- Monitor products using the workstation equipment, such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and attribute gauges to ensure that quality products are being produced.
- Ensure and maintain quality documents in a neat and orderly manner.
- Measure and inspect parts according to the Operator Inspection Instruction.
- Support and assist production as necessary or required.
- Identify nonconforming or suspect products and initiate containment process.
- Verify that SPC data is being correctly gathered, recorded, and monitored.
- Gather paperwork, SPC data, and gages necessary for upcoming production jobs.
- Comply with Drawform procedures, safety standards, and housekeeping practices by keeping work area clean, safe and organized.
- Complete and compare WIP Traveler and label info to assure it is correct and all product is labeled properly.
- Participate in team activities and contribute to the overall success of the team.
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
- Mix and monitor coolant ratios and levels
- Perform Coil Changes
- Monitor and Recycle scrap pieces and parts
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with shop floor gauging.
- Some knowledge/understanding of blueprint reading.
- Familiarity with SPC (Statistical Process Control).
- Basic mathematics skills.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Completed the Intro to Production Tech Training Program
- Must successfully complete all required Drawform Operator certifications within the first 90 days.
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to read, speak, and understand English at a level sufficient to complete training, follow work instructions and safety procedures, and use required systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to walk from press to press on the occasions where presses are not located next to each other.
- Ability to operate multiple presses at the same time when the job rating is within an acceptable level.
