Assistant Director of Nursing (RN)
Norwalk Care Center, Norwalk, Connecticut
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADNS) to support the Director of Nursing in overseeing all clinical nursing operations at Norwalk Care Center, a skilled nursing and long-term care facility committed to delivering compassionate, resident-centered care. As a key member of our leadership team, the ADNS will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and compliant nursing care to our residents.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Director of Nursing in managing daily nursing operations and staffing across all units
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including CMS guidelines and Connecticut Department of Public Health standards
Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives
Conduct and assist with care plan meetings, resident assessments (MDS), and interdisciplinary team reviews
Oversee infection control practices and documentation protocols
Respond to and manage clinical concerns, family inquiries, and incident reports
Step into the Director of Nursing role in their absence
Assist with staff scheduling, orientation, and in-service training
Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Connecticut
Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role
Long-term care or skilled nursing facility experience preferred
Familiarity with MDS/RAI process, PDPM, and care planning
Strong knowledge of state and federal nursing home regulations
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
BSN preferred; MSN a plus
