Full job description

Our client, University of Michigan, is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join their team. As an Administrative Assistant, you will be part of the Architecture, Engineering and Construction department supporting a large-scale digital accessibility initiative. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, proofreading skills, and the ability to manage large volumes of documents in an organized manner, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Administrative Assistant

Location: Ann Arbor, MI

Pay Range: $22-25/hr.

Shift: Varies, Part-Time - 25 hours per week

What's the Job?

  • Review existing documents for accessibility compliance
  • Convert and remediate documents to meet digital accessibility standards
  • Apply proper document structure (headings, alt text, tables, reading order)
  • Proofread remediated documents for formatting and accuracy
  • Track document progress and maintain an organized inventory of completed files

What's Needed?

  • Experience working with PDF files and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and common applications
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills
  • Ability to manage large volumes of documents in an organized manner
