Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized physical therapy treatments to patients under the supervision of licensed physical therapists, using advanced modalities including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and manual therapy techniques.
  • Design and implement exercise programs that address specific rehabilitation goals, while leading patients through exercises that enhance mobility, strength, and functionality.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical status before, during, and after therapy sessions, documenting progress and communicating findings effectively to the supervising physical therapist.
  • Utilize rehabilitation equipment and assistive devices, such as walkers and balance boards, to support patient recovery and independence.
  • Educate patients and their families about post-treatment care, self-management strategies, and the importance of maintaining an active lifestyle.
  • Participate in continuous training and development, including mentoring new staff on technical skills and best practices in patient care.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned to enhance patient care and support organizational goals.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on orthopedic patients dealing with various conditions such as post-surgical recovery, sports injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal disorders. You will engage with a diverse range of individuals, from athletes seeking to return to peak performance to older adults aiming to regain their mobility and independence.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from a CAPTE-accredited program.
  • Possession of a valid California Physical Therapy Assistant license (CA PTA LICENSE) and an Associate of Applied Science in Physical Therapy (AAS PTA DEGREE).
  • Strong observational skills and the ability to note changes in patient status during therapy sessions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to providing compassionate care.

Preferred Experience

  • At least 2 years of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, preferably in an orthopedic rehabilitation setting.
  • Experience with patient education and family involvement in the care process.
  • A background in mentoring less experienced staff and leading training initiatives.

Compensation and Benefits
