Job Responsibilities:
Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves mechanically or by hand using forklift, winches or conveyors. Attaches identifying tag or labels to materials or marks information on cases or other containers. Assembles and disassembles storage racks, shelving, cardboard boxes or storage units.
1. Know and understand Bowling Green Metalforming Quality and Environmental policies.
2. Follow and abide by all government and legal rules and regulations.
3. Operate heavy equipment (forklift) in a manufacturing environment in a manner that does not endanger themselves or any other workers.
4. Carry out and record incoming and outgoing inspection of parts, tags, racks, lift trucks, part tagger, etc.
5. Contribute to continuous improvement, problem solving, corrective actions and cost reduction activities to assist BGM in meeting targets and goals.
6. Maintain inventory by labelling and properly placing material and supplies in their correct location.
7. Responsible for operating inventory scanner and cycle material-based FIFO Standards.
8. Assist in restructuring storage locations, plant modifications and line staging requirements.
9. Establish and maintain communication with other departments.
10. Responsible for delivering information to the Team Leaders in terms of unexpected production changes.
11. Maintain reliable and predictable attendance.
12. Perform other duties as required.
13. Be onsite, available and in the immediate area to be able to respond to requests for help and answer general questions and/or concerns.
What we are looking for:
- High School diploma or GED
- Post-secondary education preferred, or related experience
- Successfully obtain BGM Tow-motor license
Preferred qualifications:
- Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Operate standard office equipment preferred
