Job Details

STAFF ACCOUNTANT

A growing beverage company is seeking a Staff Accountant to support its Accounts Payable function and broader day-to-day accounting operations. This is a hands-on role best suited for a detail-oriented professional who's comfortable wearing multiple hats in a small-to-mid-sized company environment, with room to grow as the organization scales.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day accounting operations in line with GAAP
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations as part of month-end close
• Process a high volume of vendor bills and maintain accurate vendor records
• Review employee expense reports for policy compliance
• Assist with external audits, providing schedules and documentation as needed
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes as the company grows
• Support special projects and other accounting tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in accounting or finance
• 2-3 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally at a small-to-mid-sized company
• Experience in wholesale, retail, distribution, or inventory-driven businesses a strong plus
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting
• Hands-on experience with month-end close and reconciliations
• ERP system experience required (NetSuite or similar preferred)
• Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a lean team
• Clear communicator with a proactive, improvement-minded approach
