Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Colorado license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >60 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Part-Time at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Special Requests: Submission Limit: Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check.

Shift & Scheduling: Self-scheduling is available. Self-schedule 6-9 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule, aligning with department needs, unit staffing plans and equitable distribution. Holiday coverage is required. Call/standby requirements are determined by the nursing manager. Must be in state during the week of orientation, even if the first-day modules are remote.

Unit Details: Common patient types include heart failure (CHF), pneumonia, COPD exacerbations and general Med-Surg patients. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights. RNs are not required to titrate drips. Common analgesic, anticoagulant and antihypertensive drips are used for pain, blood clots and blood pressure control. The unit uses centrally monitored Philips telemetry; RNs are required to be competent in reading strips. The unit has moderate oxygen needs.

Floating Requirements: Floating is determined by the nursing manager and department needs; RNs may be asked to float to any other acuity level, including ICU for low-acuity holds within their skill set, PCU/Stepdown and MS-Tele; in an extreme need, they may float within Zone 3.
