Location: Belleview, FL (relocating to Ocala, FL)
Pay Rate: $21.31/hr
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Why This Role Matters

As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting dental providers, ensuring patient safety, maintaining compliance with dental standards, and helping deliver excellent care to the community. This position combines chairside assisting, expanded duty functions, sterilization, patient interaction, and administrative responsibilities.

What You'll Do

• Assist dentists using four-handed dental assisting techniques during patient procedures
• Perform expanded duty and restorative functions in accordance with Florida regulations
• Take and maintain dental radiographs using EagleSoft software and ScanX systems
• Review patient medical histories, record vital signs, and document information in electronic oral health records
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and equipment prior to patient appointments
• Maintain sterilization procedures, infection control standards, and OSHA compliance requirements
• Monitor and maintain dental supply inventory and submit supply requests as needed
• Assist with patient referrals, appointment confirmations, encounter forms, and other clerical duties
• Support dental outreach programs, school-based initiatives, health fairs, and student training activities as assigned
• Respond appropriately during medical emergencies and perform CPR if necessary

What We're Looking For

• A current, up-to-date resume
• Florida Dental Radiology Certificate (required)
• Florida Expanded Duty Dental Assistant Certificate (required)
• Active CPR Certification (required)
• Valid Florida Driver’s License (required)
• Knowledge of standard dental procedures, techniques, tools, and materials
• Familiarity with OSHA standards, infection control practices, and hazardous dental materials
• Experience entering and maintaining patient information in electronic dental records, preferably EagleSoft
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment and prioritize multiple responsibilities
• Strong communication and patient service skills with a positive, professional attitude
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with dentists, staff, students, and patients
• Ability to lift at least 10 pounds and perform routine clinical duties
• Ability to meet compliance requirements
