Nurse Paralegal

A well-established Midwest law firm is seeking an experienced Nurse Paralegal to join its busy healthcare litigation team in Chicago.

This position offers a unique opportunity to combine clinical expertise with legal support work in a collaborative, team-focused environment. The ideal candidate will have healthcare litigation experience, strong organizational skills, and a nursing background in ER, Med-Surg, Neuro, Cardiac/Telemetry, Oncology, or Surgery/ICU settings.

Responsibilities

• Review and summarize medical records for attorneys
• Prepare detailed medical chronologies
• Apply clinical knowledge and nursing judgment to healthcare cases
• Research medical issues and expert witnesses
• Assist with case strategy development
• Organize electronic and physical case files and support litigation functions
• Manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively

Qualifications

• 2–4+ years of experience in a healthcare-focused litigation practice preferred
• Nursing experience in ER, Med-Surg, Neuro, Telemetry/Cardiac, Oncology, or Surgery/ICU required
• Insurance defense experience preferred
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

• Compensation: $75,000–$100,000
