Day in the Life of a Medical Director
Evaluate and manage patients with opioid use disorder in our outpatient clinic settings
Prescribe appropriate medications and treatments as indicated by patient assessment
Complete medical documentation per Crossroads standards
Collaborate with clinic staff to provide holistic care to patients, including referrals to other medical providers and community services
Provide injections if needed
APP collaboration
Schedule & Locations
Primary center: LaGrange, GA
Target weekly hours: 8 hours (sample in-center hours schedule: 5a-10a, 6a-11a, remaining hours admin/virtual) Flexible on the day of the week.
Only 1 day a week in person for in-center shift plus admin/virtual consults other days.
Education and Licensure Requirements
Active and clear MD or DO licensure to practice medicine in the state(s) in which patient care will be provided.
DEA in the state of practice
Board certified in primary specialty in one of the following: Family Medicine/Family Practice, Internal Medicine, General Practice, Psychiatry
Additional education or certification may be required depending on state of practice.
State Specific Requirements
- Medical Directors must have 12 hours of approved training in narcotic-addiction treatment within the 12 months preceding the date of hire.
- A physician may serve as Medical Director of no more than two narcotic treatment programs and are within 50 miles of the physician's primary residence or primary office location. The Medical Director can be more than 50 miles from the Crossroads OTP as long as they are only serving as a Medical Director for the one Crossroads OTP. This would include also serving as a Medical Director for any non-Crossroads OTP's.
