Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

Requirements:

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <75 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Preferred Skills/Experience: Ability to scrub multiple service lines, including but not limited to, Ortho, ENT, Thoracic, Neuro Spine, Eyes, General, Gyne & Urology.

Required Credentials: Must have completed a program sponsored by nationally recognized institutional or programmatic accreditation and maintain certification, or completed an appropriate military training program, or maintained certification from an accredited program, or been employed as a surgical technologist in a health care facility on or before 12/27/2020. Staff employed to practice surgical technology by the health care facility on or before 12/27/2020, or employed as a surgical technologist at another health care facility two years before 12/27/2020, are grandfathered and therefore not required to have certification.

Special Requests: Clinicians may be eligible for an earlier start date if they have recent PA fingerprint results and PA Child Abuse Clearance Results (obtained within <5 years).

Unit Details: Work includes preparing sterile and non-sterile equipment, sterile drapes and sterile solutions; adjusting and checking equipment; preparing patients by washing and shaving them, ensuring aseptic incision sites, positioning them on the operating table, and covering them with sterile surgical drapes; and assisting the surgical team with sterile gowns and gloves. During surgery, work includes passing instruments and sterile supplies; holding retractors or instruments; cutting sutures; sponging or suctioning the operative site under the surgeon’s supervision; and counting sponges, needles, supplies and instruments. Additional duties include preparing, caring for and disposing of specimens, applying dressings, labeling medications and handing them to the surgeon, and cleaning and restocking the operating room. Medication access is limited to distribution of the medication to the nurse. After surgery, may help transfer patients to the recovery room.

Shift & Scheduling: Monday-Friday with no set days. Call is required from 7 pm to 6:30 am (5 days in 12 weeks). No scheduled weekend shifts; weekend coverage is via call shifts only. Must be flexible to stay past 7 pm to finish a case if more than one OR is still running.

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 2 years
