Telemetry Unit - Travel Registered Nurse - $1720 per week.

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Telemetry Unit experience.

• Experience with Meditech is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Louisiana license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

• Anyone currently working at this facility cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: - First-time travelers must have 2 years of permanent staff RN experience in acute care. - Ability to read cardiac strips.

Required Credentials: - Travelers will be required to pass an EKG competency exam as part of compliance, prior to arrival (includes Med-Surg RN).

Special Requests: - Travelers must be separated for 1 year if previously a permanent staff member. - RTO may be approved for up to 7 days; any full week of RTO requires a contract extension. - May request only 1 weekend of RTO per 13-week contract. - Blackout dates: Halloween 2024; Black Friday 2024.

Unit Details: - Patient population includes patients awaiting transplant, recently transplanted, or with a history of transplant. - Common Med-Surg/Telemetry diagnoses include, but are not limited to, CHF, COPD, altered mental status, and DKA. - The unit occasionally cares for patients with chest tubes or on peritoneal dialysis; cardiac drips are not titrated. Wound care is directed by WOCNs; IV initiation and OneTouch testing are performed. - Phlebotomy performs peripheral blood draws only. - IV/VAT team is available on days, with minimal night-shift coverage for line placement. - RT is specifically assigned to the unit 24/7. - A hospitalist is available, including on call overnight. - OT, PT, and ST support is available. - Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing.

Shift & Scheduling: - Mandatory 3/2 schedule rotation: 4 days one week and 3 days the next week. - Every other weekend. - No call. - Will work 2/3 major holidays.

Floating Requirements: - Traveler floats first to any other unit within scope of practice.

7 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
