Job Description
Construct, modify and repair tools, fixtures, jigs, gauges, and dies by use of prints, sketches, and verbal instructions. Work with minimum supervision within a team atmosphere utilizing employee involvement, communication, and problem-solving skills. Have basic working knowledge of tool making equipment both manual and CNC controlled. Improvise setups to work with and without special jigs and fixtures. Sharpen and maintain tools as required. Responsible for clean and safe working conditions. Share in weekly scheduler (lead person) rotation, includes scheduling small miscellaneous jobs, monitoring/restocking special tool room operating supplies and labor reporting responsibility.
Qualifications
Requires being skilled in complicated print reading, advanced shop math, operation, and interpretation of precision measuring instruments. Personal hand tools required such as micrometers, scales, etc.
Basic Qualification
Current Oshkosh Defense Hourly Production employee or laid off Oshkosh Defense Hourly Production employee with recall rights.
