As an SSD Hardware Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of next-generation SSD products from concept through production. This is an amazing opportunity to influence system architecture, solve complex high-speed design challenges, and drive product quality, performance, and reliability while employing emerging AI-enabled engineering tools and automation technologies!
Responsibilities:
- Lead SSD hardware development activities across the product lifecycle, including design, validation, characterization, and production support
- Collaborate with technically diverse teams to define requirements, review architectures, and deliver hardware solutions that meet performance, quality, and manufacturability goals
- Perform signal integrity and power integrity analysis, simulation, validation, and debugging for high-speed interfaces and subsystems
- Drive board bring-up, hardware debugging, root cause analysis, and technical investigations throughout development and qualification
- Mentor engineers and promote the use of AI tools and automation to improve engineering productivity and debug efficiency
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and 5+ years of hardware design experience in SSD, storage, high-performance computing, or related technologies
- Strong expertise in high-speed hardware design, transmission line theory, signal integrity, power integrity, and PCB development
- Hands-on experience with board bring-up, hardware debugging, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, schematic review, and laboratory validation
- Experience with PCIe technologies, compliance testing methodologies, and high-speed signal measurements in the 20-35 GHz range
- Demonstrated ability to lead engineering projects, solve complex technical problems, and communicate effectively across teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
- Experience with SSD controller architectures, NAND flash technologies, and storage system design
- Expertise with PCIe Gen4, Gen5, or Gen6 technologies, as well as DDR memory subsystems and ONFI interfaces
- Experience applying AI-assisted engineering tools to hardware design, validation, debugging, and workflow automation
- Experience working with Agentic AI tools to assist with design and verification
The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
$152,000.00 - $280,000.00 a yearAdditional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity.
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base pay for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
