Position Summary:

The Brake & Roll Press Operator is responsible for setting up and operating brake press and roll press equipment to fabricate high-quality metal components according to engineering specifications. This role requires the ability to interpret blueprints, configure bend allowances, verify dimensional accuracy, and maintain efficient production output while adhering to all safety and quality standards.



Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate brake press and roll press equipment to form, bend, and roll metal components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, bills of materials (BOMs), and production specifications.
  • Calculate and configure bend allowances for stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel materials.
  • Utilize measuring and inspection tools including tape measures, squares, electronic levels, calipers, and micrometers to ensure product accuracy.
  • Verify dimensions, alignment, and tolerances throughout the fabrication process.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections to maintain quality standards.
  • Deburr, grind, file, and polish fabricated parts using hand, bench, and machine tools as required.
  • Identify production inefficiencies and contribute to improved machine performance, quality, and throughput.
  • Complete production documentation and maintain accurate records.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
  • Assist with additional fabrication and manufacturing duties as assigned.

    • Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 3 years of brake press and/or roll press operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Prior metal fabrication experience.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
    • Strong understanding of dimensional tolerances and quality inspection methods.
    • Experience using precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
    • Basic mathematical skills, including fractions, decimals, and measurements.
      • What will put you ahead:

    • Experience working with stainless steel fabrication.
    • Experience operating laser cutting machines and/or plasma cutting systems. 
    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
    • Forklift and overhead crane experience.

    • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality workmanship.
    • Effective communication and organizational skills.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
    • Ability to identify equipment or process issues and recommend improvements.
    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
    • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
    • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 70 pounds unassisted.
    • Ability to use hands and arms to grasp, handle, and manipulate tools, materials, and equipment.
    • Ability to climb stairs and work safely around industrial machinery.
    • Ability to work overtime as needed to meet production demands.
