$10,000 SIGN ON BONUS GREAT BENEFITS AT LOW COST The Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager provides leadership and oversight for the daily operations of an assigned nursing unit. This position ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, and resident-centered care in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, facility policies, and professional standards of practice. The RN Unit Manager serves as a clinical leader, mentor, and resource for nursing staff, while fostering a positive and collaborative environment that supports residents, families, and team members. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizational policies and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include:
Interviews, recommend hires and trains employees Plans, assigns, and directs workflow. Prepares work assignment sheets, taking into consideration resident safety, the educational preparation, experience, knowledge and ability of the persons to whom the assignments are made. Receive calls and find replacements for absent staff as needed Transfers employees within units as needed. Prepares performance evaluations with the understanding that such evaluations impact tenure of probationary employees and wage increases of non-probationary employees. Schedules and adjusts lunch and rest breaks. Receives and resolves employee complaints. Determines rotation of nurses within unit. Monitors and corrects job performance of employees. Disciplining employees up to and including recommendation of discharge. Adequately supervises assigned staff and assures that those staff are supervising employees assigned to them.
Education and/or Experience: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in long-term care or post-acute setting. Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or management role preferred. Working knowledge of nursing practice, infection control, and regulatory requirements. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment. Current CPR certification or CPR certification within 90 days of employment.
