Description:
Position Overview:
The Tax Manager leads all corporate tax affairs and is involved in strategic initiatives in a high-growth environment. S/he is required to stay current in significant tax matters and communicate the impact to the Company. S/he is responsible for the completion of the GAAP tax provision, tax returns and ensure compliance with income tax, sales tax and all other tax matters.
Our Hybrid Work Program: To create vibrancy and foster collaboration, while providing for hours spent working from home, we have implemented a hybrid work schedule. We work from the office in Poway on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Fridays are spent working from home. Team members can always work more hours in the office, if they choose.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local tax requirements.
* Prepare the annual GAAP tax provision including one foreign entity and respond to external audit questions.
* Prepares annual financial statement disclosures related to income tax matters.
* Works effectively with the General Accounting team and external tax professionals to file federal and state income tax returns, sales and use tax returns, property tax returns and any other tax filings as required.
* Analyzes and prepares projections of domestic and foreign tax rates and payments.
* Prepares monthly journal entries related to tax.
* Analyzes and executes changes to intercompany and transfer price agreements.
* Completes tax research and memos on Company positions. Prepares and enforces tax policies as necessary.
* Participates in strategic initiatives and provides guidance on tax compliance.
* Manages IRS and local jurisdictions audits as needed.
* Implements software programs used for tax matters as needed.
* Works with external tax professionals to provide requested information for shareholder tax filings
* Acts as a trusted advisor on significant tax matters.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting required, MS in Taxation is a plus.
* CPA is preferred.
* 6+ years of public accounting and/or corporate tax experience.
* Demonstrated knowledge of tax law.
* Experience with Sage and Avalara is desired.
* Strong system skills in computerized accounting and advanced spreadsheet skills. Technical proficiency includes the ability to learn new software and programs.
Travel Requirements:
Travel up to 5% of the time to visit other company locations or participate in acquisition activities.
