8, 10, or 12 hour shifts -- hours of operation 8 am - 12 am
Weekends required -- 5 - 10 shifts per month ongoing
45 - 55 patients per shift
Pediatric urgent care setting -- very busy
May supervise ancillary staff
Suturing required -- 2 - 3 per day
ENT concerns, pneumonia, abscess draining, X-ray and EKG interpretation
Splinting, nail procedures, and additional urgent care skills required
Paid malpractice insurance; pre-paid travel and housing expenses
