Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a South Carolina license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >60 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: MS/Tele experience and telemetry, insulin, and rapid response skills required.

Special Requests: RTO is due at time of submission. All RTO must be included at time of submission. Approval will be based on facility needs. Any candidate that has 7+ days and/or includes holiday RTO will have to be submitted to the facility for approval and can delay the process. Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (peak: August–September). If unavailable for emergency response duties, please do not confirm new assignments or extensions during this period. Hurricane season runs from June through November each year. If your start date is within 90 days, you must complete all labs within 72 hours of signing an offer with MUSC.

Unit Details: Adult and geriatric patient population. Typical adult med surg diagnoses include DM, renal disease, HTN, CAD, stroke, chest pain, and AMS. All patients are eligible for telemetry monitoring, monitored by central monitor techs. Staffing plan supports 1:6 normal ratios but may flex to 1:7 if an unplanned absence cannot be covered. Uses telemedicine; instruction provided.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Call required: prn low census.

Floating Requirements: May float within scope to med surg units and sister facilities as needed.

All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment.
