A bit about us:

We are seeking a Metallurgical Engineer to support manufacturing operations through materials analysis, process optimization, quality improvement, and failure investigations. This role will work closely with production, quality, engineering, and operations teams to improve product performance, reduce defects, and ensure materials meet customer and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of metallurgy, heat treatment, material properties, and root cause analysis.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate metallic materials, processes, and products to ensure compliance with quality and performance standards.
Conduct metallurgical investigations, failure analyses, and root cause studies related to product or process issues.
Analyze material properties, microstructures, and mechanical test results to identify improvement opportunities.
Support manufacturing operations through troubleshooting, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop and maintain specifications, procedures, and technical documentation related to materials and processing.
Work with quality and operations teams to reduce scrap, improve yield, and enhance product reliability.
Review customer specifications and assist with material selection for new and existing products.
Support audits, corrective actions, and customer inquiries related to metallurgical performance.
Participate in new product development, qualification trials, and process validation activities.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
3+ years of metallurgical or materials engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with metallography, failure analysis, heat treatment, and mechanical testing.
Knowledge of ferrous and/or non-ferrous materials and manufacturing processes.
Familiarity with root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency with standard laboratory and testing equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in metals manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, steel, aluminum, foundry, forging, rolling, or heat treatment operations.
Knowledge of ASTM, ISO, AMS, or other industry standards.
Experience with statistical analysis and process capability tools.
Six Sigma or lean manufacturing experience.
