Job Details

This company is creating a new Residential Market Growth Executive role to rebuild residential lead volume through community relationships rather than paid advertising. You won't be closing sales — the company's existing residential specialists handle in-home appointments once a lead comes in. Instead, you'll build the pipeline: identifying the neighborhoods and communities that fit the company's ideal customer, becoming a trusted, familiar face there, and creating loyalty and referral programs that turn those relationships into a steady, recurring stream of qualified leads. You'll split your time between fieldwork and supporting the in-house marketing team, reporting to the General Manager with a dotted line to the Director of Marketing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Use the company's ideal customer profile (home age, size, subdivision) to identify the neighborhoods and communities most likely to generate strong leads
  • Map homeowner associations, community groups, and other local organizations in target areas, and build genuine relationships with board members and organizers
  • Design and run loyalty and referral programs (for example, a discount on a yearly maintenance agreement, a free lifetime diagnostic check, or a credit toward a system replacement) that convert community relationships into recurring leads
  • Represent the company at community events, sponsorships, and gatherings, including evenings and weekends, to build visibility and trust in target neighborhoods
  • Track which programs, partnerships, and events are actually generating leads, and double down on what's working
  • Support the Director of Marketing roughly one day a week on local social content, branding, and campaigns that reinforce the community-building strategy
  • Hand off qualified leads to the residential sales team in a way that sets them up to close, without getting pulled into running the appointments yourself
  • Report regularly to the General Manager and Chief Commercial Officer on lead volume, program performance, and community relationship progress

What Success Looks Like
  • First 30-60 days: learn the company's ideal customer profile, current service area, and existing marketing efforts; begin mapping target neighborhoods and homeowner associations
  • First 90 days: first relationships established with at least a few community organizations or associations, and an initial loyalty/referral program designed and launched
  • 6-12 months: a measurable, growing stream of leads flowing to the residential sales team that isn't dependent on paid advertising, meaningfully closing the gap left by reduced ad spend
  • Ongoing: recognized as a known, trusted presence in the community on the company's behalf, with a track record of programs and partnerships that keep generating leads year after year

What You Bring — Must-Haves
  • A marketing, community relations, or similarly people-facing background — backgrounds in education or real estate have translated well into this kind of role
  • Genuine local roots or the ability to quickly build real credibility and trust in the community
  • Strong relationship-building and networking instincts — comfortable initiating conversations with strangers, boards, and organizers
  • Comfort with a flexible, unstructured schedule that includes evenings and weekend events, measured on results rather than hours

What You Bring — Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience designing or running a loyalty, referral, or community partnership program from scratch
  • Existing relationships with homeowner associations, community organizations, or local groups in the Southeast Michigan market
  • Comfort supporting basic marketing/content efforts alongside a marketing team
  • Interest in growing into a broader sales and marketing leadership role over time
