Work Environment

This full-time position is based onsite at our hospital facility in Lancaster, California. Our collaborative environment encourages teamwork among healthcare professionals. Operating within a structured schedule from Monday to Friday, your working hours will be either from 9 AM to 5 PM or 8 AM to 4 PM. This regular schedule enhances work-life balance while ensuring consistent patient care and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in evaluating patients through detailed assessments of their functional abilities and limitations.
• Implement individualized treatment plans devised by Physical Therapists to improve patients' strength, balance, and mobility.
• Administer therapeutic interventions including manual therapy techniques, exercise regimens, and modalities to address musculoskeletal and neurological disorders.
• Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists, to provide holistic patient management.
• Educate patients and their families on strategies to manage their conditions, including home exercise programs and the correct use of adaptive equipment.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment methods utilized, and discharge recommendations, adhering to all legal and regulatory requirements.
• Engage in ongoing professional education and actively pursue opportunities to expand your clinical expertise through workshops and certifications.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The role focuses on a diverse patient population dealing with orthopedic injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, chronic pain management, and neurological conditions. Your work will significantly contribute to enhancing the functional independence of patients with varying needs and backgrounds, thereby playing an essential role in their recovery journey.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Possession of a valid California PTA license and an AAS degree in Physical Therapy Assisting.
• Demonstrated exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with patients and healthcare teammates.
• Strong clinical assessment capabilities and a proactive approach to patient care.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of one year of experience in a clinical setting, particularly in orthopedic rehabilitation.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems to document patient care is preferred.
• A background in working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits

Competitive salary ranging from $50,000 to $70,000 annually, alongside a comprehensive benefits package.
