Position Summary
The Quality Inspector I is responsible for performing basic inspections on incoming materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and customer specifications. This entry-level position is focused on following company procedures, recording inspection data, and identifying potential non-conformances. The role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work closely with production teams to ensure product quality. Principle Responsibilities
- Conduct basic visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of raw materials, components, and finished products.
- Maintain a positive and professional presence while representing quality assurance with production teams.
- Verify conformance to specifications using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Document inspection results and any defects / non-conformances detected.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics at a basic level.
- Follow company procedures to perform routine quality checks.
- Maintain inspection records and files for traceability and compliance.
- Ensure that inspection equipment is calibrated and properly maintained before use.
- Assist with the identification of non-conforming products and initiate corrective actions under supervision.
- Work with production teams to identify potential areas for improvement and support quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in routine training to develop knowledge of quality systems and inspection techniques.
Qualification Requirements
Credentials/Experience:
- High School diploma or GED
- Strong math skills to work with fractions and decimals in the imperial and metric measurement systems
Experience/Educational/Training Preferred:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment is a plus, but not required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of inspection tools and measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify product defects.
- Good communication skills to document and report inspection results.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and company procedures.1Average skill in Microsoft Office, entering data accurately and repeatably.
