Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

Required Skills/Experience: General medical experience.

Unit Details: General medical unit. Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4/5 on day shift and 1:5/6 on night shift. Some patients are on telemetry; uses Phillips monitors. Bedside RNs do not read strips; there is a central monitor station for monitor techs. No vents.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. 3 of 6 required holidays throughout the year. Call or standby requirements depend on hospital staffing needs.

Floating Requirements: Travel RNs are first to float; otherwise floating is on a rotation of who floated last.

14 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 09/07/2026, 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 12/31/2026, 01/01/2027, 05/31/2027, 07/04/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 3

2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months

Driver’s license required for submission
