Position Start Date: January 4, 2027

Required Degree: 

Bachelor's degree in Music required. Master's degree in Music preferred.

The required degree must be completed by the start date. 

Experience: 

Collegiate teaching experience preferred. Professional-level experience performing various styles of drum set and other percussion preferred.

Duties/Expectations: 

• A firm commitment to the mission of BYU and the School of Music.
• Serve as an excellent role model for students.
• Teach Music 160R: Percussion, which consists of teaching 30-minute drum set and four-mallet marimba lessons to non-major percussionists.
• Work with full-time percussion faculty to assess and meet the needs of students and schedule lessons at the beginning of the semester.
• Schedule is based on student availability from semester to semester.
• Opportunities may arise to teach marching and various concert percussion lessons.
