Full job description
Fairmont Dallas, located in the Arts District of downtown Dallas, offers 545 elegant guestrooms and suites, with over 73,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. For over 50 years, Fairmont Dallas has been the setting for countless civic, social cultural, convention and corporate events, setting the stage for countless memories.

As an IT Technician, you will help ensure the hotel’s systems operate securely, reliably, and efficiently. Your support and attention to detail will help protect data, maintain compliance with security protocols, and keep our team equipped with the tools they need to succeed.
Reporting to the Area IT Manager, your duties include, but are not limited to:
- Consistently provide professional, engaging, and friendly service
- Lead and manage the hotel’s daily IT operations while ensuring all standards are upheld
- Follow all company IT Security Policies related to hardware, software, and data protection
- Maintain and monitor Barracuda Cloud backups
- Support and maintain end‑user workstations
- Provide support for standalone hotel systems, including network‑connected systems, POS systems, interfaces, file servers, and UPS devices
- Maintain and manage user accounts within Active Directory
- Manage access requests through the corporate grant/revoke ticketing system
- Ensure all software installations comply with licensing requirements
- Troubleshoot day‑to‑day IT issues for colleagues
- Assist with planning and implementing infrastructure changes, upgrades, and system modifications
- Implement network security standards set by corporate guidelines
- Oversee administration and maintenance of the company’s LAN
- Oversee administration of the company’s WAN
- Support troubleshooting, system backups, archiving, and disaster recovery processes, providing expert assistance when needed
- Collaborate with project teams to support implementation of internal systems
- Oversee local help desk operations and respond to escalated issues
- Maintain tracking and monitoring software
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve IT concerns in a timely manner
- Ensure company assets are used and maintained responsibly
- Balance operational tasks with administrative responsibilities and colleague needs
- Follow all departmental and safety policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Degree in Computer Engineering or a minimum of four years of practical IT experience
- Ability to provide after‑hours support
- CompTIA A+ certification (an asset)
- Microsoft certification (preferred)
- Knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy structures (preferred)
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking
- Previous hotel IT experience is an asset, but not required
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail
- Reliable, responsible, and highly attentive to accuracy and security
