Full job description
In this position, the candidate will:
- Perform as a project engineer and/or project manager on a variety of DOT and local agency projects related to bridge design.
- Apply advanced, specialized knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of bridge design.
- Work on a major project or several major projects of moderate scope with complex features.
- Leading the preparation of complete design and construction documents for bridge projects.
- Plan and coordinate aspects of the engineering work.
- Provide bridge inspection services.
- Assist management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor.
- Prepare scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
- Assist with preparation of proposals and funding applications.
- As opportunities present themselves, this role may also be involved in other various responsibilities and projects.
Qualifications for this role:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering; Structural emphasis is helpful
- Professional Engineer (PE)
- 8+ years of Structural Engineering experience with an emphasis on bridge design projects
- Experience with project management and accounting software is beneficial
- Exceptional organization skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team
