Veterinary Urgent Care Center (VUCC) – Worcester is looking to add a Full Time and Part-Time Veterinary Assistant to our growing team! About the Hospital
Our four-doctor urgent care hospital bridges the gap between general practice and emergency medicine by treating non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries in dogs and cats. We are committed to providing exceptional patient care while delivering an outstanding client experience.
Conditions We Commonly Treat
- Vomiting and diarrhea
- Ear and skin infections
- Lameness and minor injuries
- Allergic reactions
- Wounds and abscesses
- Urinary concerns
- Minor surgical procedures
- In-house diagnostics and imaging
Depending on the veterinarian on duty, we may also see select exotic pets.
What You'll Do
As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll be an essential member of our medical team, supporting the doctors and veterinary technicians in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with triage of urgent care patients
- Obtain patient histories and assist with treatments
- Assist with IV catheter placement and laboratory sample collection
- Assist with diagnostics and imaging
- Assist with anesthesia monitoring and minor surgical procedures
- Administer medications and treatments as directed
- Provide compassionate patient care and restraint
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding treatment plans and home care
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient hospital
- Collaborate closely with doctors and technicians to provide high-quality patient care

Schedule
This is a Full Time or Part Time position with a rotating schedule that may include:
- Weekdays
- Weekends

- Proficiency in fundamental veterinary skills ranging from laboratory and pharmacy to nursing and radiology is a strong asset.
