Veterinary Urgent Care Center (VUCC) – Worcester is looking to add a Full Time and Part-Time Veterinary Assistant to our growing team! Our four-doctor urgent care hospital bridges the gap between general practice and emergency medicine by treating non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries in dogs and cats. We are committed to providing exceptional patient care while delivering an outstanding client experience.

Conditions We Commonly Treat

• Vomiting and diarrhea
• Ear and skin infections
• Lameness and minor injuries
• Allergic reactions
• Wounds and abscesses
• Urinary concerns
• Minor surgical procedures
• In-house diagnostics and imaging

Depending on the veterinarian on duty, we may also see select exotic pets.

What You'll Do

As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll be an essential member of our medical team, supporting the doctors and veterinary technicians in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Assist with triage of urgent care patients
• Obtain patient histories and assist with treatments
• Assist with IV catheter placement and laboratory sample collection
• Assist with diagnostics and imaging
• Assist with anesthesia monitoring and minor surgical procedures
• Administer medications and treatments as directed
• Provide compassionate patient care and restraint
• Communicate professionally with clients regarding treatment plans and home care
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient hospital
• Collaborate closely with doctors and technicians to provide high-quality patient care

Schedule

This is a Full Time or Part Time position with a rotating schedule that may include:

• Weekdays
• Weekends

What You'll Bring to the Team

• A High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Confidence and skill in handling pets of all sizes and temperaments.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency in fundamental veterinary skills ranging from laboratory and pharmacy to nursing and radiology is a strong asset.
