Full job description

Patient First is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer II to support current hybrid infrastructure operations while advancing the organization toward a standardized Azure platform operating model. This role blends existing systems administration, monitoring, backup, patching, and incident response responsibilities with future-state Azure platform delivery, Infrastructure as Code, landing zone alignment, and pipeline-integrated deployment practices.

The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Fully deploying and managing standardized Azure dev/test/prod environments using approved landing zone and subscription patterns;
  • Modifying, maintaining, and improving reusable IaC templates using Terraform, Bicep, or approved Azure-native tooling;
  • Implementing approved cloud platform configurations for compute, storage, identity integration, backup, scaling, monitoring, and disaster recovery;
  • Supporting migration from manually provisioned infrastructure to governed, template- driven platform services;
  • Shifting manual server and resource provisioning into version-controlled IaC templates and repeatable deployment pipelines;
  • Reducing one-off infrastructure patterns by aligning new workloads to approved platform standards;
  • Converting tribal knowledge into documented runbooks, reusable templates, and operational handoff checklists;
  • Supporting Windows/Linux server infrastructure, virtualization, storage, backup, recovery, and monitoring activities across on-premises and cloud-connected environments;
  • Troubleshooting infrastructure issues involving compute, storage, identity, Active Directory, DNS, system access, patching, and application dependencies;
  • Participating in incident response, root-cause analysis, after-hours support, and operational recovery activities as required;
  • Maintaining documentation, runbooks, standard operating procedures, and operational handoff materials for supported systems;
  • Collaborating with network, security, database, application, and support teams to resolve infrastructure-related service issues;
  • Collaborating with other teams as assigned to integrate infrastructure deployment into CI/CD pipelines and approval workflows.

Minimum education and professional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Employee must be 18 years of age or older;
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • At least three years of infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or hybrid cloud operations experience;
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure compute, storage, identity, monitoring, and hybrid integration patterns;
  • Working experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates;
  • Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills in complex hybrid environments;
  • Experience with Azure Landing Zones, management groups, policies, RBAC, and subscription governance;
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions pipelines;
  • Experience supporting Windows/Linux systems, Active Directory, DNS, backup/recovery, patching, and monitoring tools;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Experience with backup/DR platforms such as Veeam, Rubrik, or equivalent cloud- native recovery services;
  • Azure Administrator Associate or comparable Azure certification.
