Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Medical Pulmonary Unit. In this role you will be responsible for planning, executing and evaluating the nursing care given to (Pulmonary and respiratory diagnoses, included but not limited to: COPD and asthma exacerbations, pneumonia, TB, infections and ailments of the pulmonary system.   • You will develop and implement individual patient care plans in accordance with standards of nursing practice through implementation of the nursing process and nursing diagnosis
  • You will administer medications as ordered for specific group of patients and demonstrates knowledge of their modes of action, side effects and contraindications
  • You will initiate, regulate and otherwise manages IV therapy for a specific group of assigned patients
  • You will assume responsibility for patient placement on the unit and assignment of care responsibilities that consider complexity of nursing care required by each patient
  • You will evaluate patient environment for safety and communicates identified concerns to the appropriate person in a timely manner
  • You will provide patient education and keeps patient informed of treatment plan

Qualifications:

  • This position is in the Medical Pulmonary Unit
  • Graduate from an Accredited School of Nursing
  • BSN preferred
  • Basic computer and hospital informatics skills required
  • Specialty Certification where required: example: Chemotherapy; ACLS; PALS
  • Current CPR certification from American Heart Association required
  • Complies with hospital employee health, infection control and safety management programs
  • Current acute clinical care experience preferred
  • Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Nevada
  • Independently maintains license
  • Acquires required contact hours to maintain practice
