Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit - Travel Registered Nurse - $2130 per week.

Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

• 3 months of travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is required.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is required.

• ADN completion required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Indiana license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >40 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

• Anyone currently working at this facility cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Two years of strong cardiac/tele experience required. One completed travel assignment required.

Unit Details: Patient population includes post-cardiac procedure patients (heart cath, ablation, pacemaker), A-fib RVR, ESRD, CHF, sepsis, tracheostomies, nephrostomy tubes/CBI/renal biopsy, and behavioral health/detox. Work includes tele/12-lead EKG interpretation; heart cath recovery (femoral/TR bands); PIV insertion; chest tube/indwelling drain management; cardiac drips (Cardizem, amiodarone, etc.) and other drips (heparin, Lasix, Protonix, etc.); CBI; detox/CIWA protocols; and central line care. Patient ratios are 1:4-5 on days and 1:6-7 on nights; the charge nurse takes a patient assignment. May require precepting students and new hires.

Shift & Scheduling: Three weekends out of every six-week schedule. Every other holiday. Flexible contract hours: 48 per week may be accommodated upon request. Orientation-week hours are not assured. The unit is closed on holidays.

Floating Requirements: The clinician is first to float within their skill set and may float to Deaconess Midtown (IN) campus (8 miles away) and potentially to Deaconess Henderson (KY; 11 miles away). Two hours’ notice is given for cross-campus floats. Mid-shift floats occur within the same campus; cross-campus mid-shift floats are unlikely but possible.
