Job Title:

Summer 2027 Intern-R&D Intern

Summary:

The intern is to conduct chemistry experiments, perform rubber compounding, take measurements, analyze experimental data, write reports, and present results.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Hands-on experiments   - Run different chemical reactions (organic synthesis, polymerization, or rubber compounding) - Conduct formulation work   - Perform various tests (physical, mechanical, or rheological) Primary Responsibility.

  • Literature search and data analysis - Search literature to gain understanding of current project - Analyze experimental data to deduce scientific conclusions Primary Responsibility.

  • Report writing and presentation - Complete a technical report   - Present the project to pertinent group(s).

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

Hands-on lab experience in chemistry or other related fields.  Literature searching skills.  Computer skills in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Program Minimum Qualifications:

  • The candidate must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of application and for at least one semester following the conclusion of the internship.

  • The candidate is expected to be available 40 hours a week for a period of 10-12 weeks between the months of May and August.
     

Education Requirement:

BS or BE in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineerring, and Polymer Science and Engineering

Base Pay Range: $22.00 - $26.00
