Unit Highlights

Nurses on 5C provide post operative care to patients who receive elective joint replacements, spine surgeries, and those needing fixation after traumatic fractures. This unit also provides the opportunity to care for patients undergoing Gender Affirmation Surgery! ​

5C is one of three units at MedStar Washington Hospital Center to receive the PRISM award from the Academy of Medical Surgical Nurses. PRISM stands for Premier Recognition in the Specialty of Med-Surg and recognizes exemplary practice on med-surg units across the nation. ​

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex. You will assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans. Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team.

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Prior Clinical Nursing Experience preferred.
• Active DC RN License and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross).

This position has a hiring range of : USD $41.37 - USD $66.92 /Hr.
