Work Environment
This position requires a strong onsite presence at our facility in Monticello, where we provide a variety of rehabilitation services. You'll work in a collaborative environment alongside seasoned physical therapists, administrative staff, and other healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities
- Implement and execute individualized treatment plans designed by the supervising Physical Therapist, ensuring each patient receives tailored and targeted care.
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and manual therapy techniques while providing mobility training and goal-oriented interventions.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of patient progress and interventions using our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Educate patients on proper exercise techniques, self-care, and body mechanics, fostering a proactive approach to their recovery.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the safety and effectiveness of treatment interventions, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal patient care.
- Collaborate effectively with your team, including physical therapists, front office staff, and referring medical providers to optimize patient care initiatives.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This role primarily involves working with patients seeking rehabilitation for various orthopedic conditions and sports injuries. You will engage with a diverse group of individuals ranging from post-operative patients recovering from surgery to active athletes looking to regain peak performance. Your approach will focus on empowering patients, enhancing their independence, and guiding them through their rehabilitation journeys.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in New York State is mandatory.
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program is required.
- Certifications: CPR/BLS certification must be current.
Preferred Experience
- A friendly and approachable demeanor, demonstrating a strong motivation to work as part of a team.
- At least 1 year of experience in outpatient orthopedic settings is preferred, although new graduates are also encouraged to apply.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as WebPT or NetHealth will be advantageous.
- A keen interest in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation is highly desirable.
- Experience or a strong interest in manual therapy, functional movement, or performance rehabilitation techniques will enhance your candidacy.
