What You Will Do

The Additive Manufacturing Process and Capability Center (AMPCC) encompasses a critical mass of Additive Manufacturing (AM) process and industrialization experts, the necessary equipment, and develops the strategic collaborations needed to rapidly mature the technology and manufacturing readiness of AM.  The AMPCC is focused on the research, development, and deployment of additive manufacturing tools and processes for our business units.


  • Support RTX Business Units by providing process expertise and IQ/OQ/MQ tools and best practices to increase the rate of additive adoption
  • Explore the capabilities of advanced measurement tools for characterizing machine inputs and melt pool / material responses with the goal of quantifying and reducing variability
  • Support root cause investigations on build failures, machine or process issues, or product performance gaps and implement corrective actions
  • Curate pedigreed Process-Structure-Property data into various materials databases
  • Lead responsive proposals for Internal Research and Development (IRAD) programs in support of our Business Unit customers and execute on awarded programs

 

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • A Master's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing Engineering or STEM major obtained by start date
  • 1+ years scripting experience with Matlab, Python, VBA, JavaScript or similar
  • 1+ years experience with CAD tools
  • 1+ years hands-on experience operating manufacturing equipment
  • Basic understanding of low voltage sensors and control systems and working understanding of AM processes including laser powder bed fusion

 

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • A minimum 3.5 GPA is desirable.
  • Experience with metal laser powder bed fusion Additive Manufacturing tools and processes
  • Experience utilizing advanced AM build processors to design custom LPBF tool paths
  • Experience utilizing statistical analysis software packages (Minitab, Stat-Ease360, or similar)

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
