We are seeking a Lead Substation Structural Engineer with a B.S. in Civil/Structural Engineering and 8+ years of structural design engineering and review experience. Experience within the electric utility industry - either working directly for a utility or an engineering consultancy - is strongly preferred, as is prior engineering work experience in California. The candidate must have a strong educational background in design of steel structures, concrete structures, geotechnical engineering, and foundations. Candidate must also have proven client management experience, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships while managing expectations.
This position will consist of performing design reviews of the aforementioned civil/structural design components in support of the development of bid/construction packages for substation projects. Candidate will primarily function as a senior engineer leading project, performing design reviews, as well as developing junior staff members. Experience with design and review for structures and foundations to industry codes and standards under seismic loading conditions is required. Site-visits to client substation facilities are expected to be part of the work, along with occasional travel for client meetings and industry-related events.
Candidate must comply with quality control and safe work practices and maintain compliance with project scope, schedule and budget expectations. This position will be a senior member of a design team comprised of engineers, designers, and drafting technicians, and will be expected to manage and work on projects for multiple clients concurrently.

- Bachelors of Science (BS) degree in Civil-Structural Engineering and 8+ years of relevant experience, or Masters (MS) with 5+ years of relevant experience
