Limited Scope Radiology Tech in School

Logan Regional Hospital .
This PRN opportunity is designed for students who are completing their final year of Radiologic Technology education and currently hold a Limited Scope/Practical Radiologic Technologist license. In this role, you‘ll work alongside experienced imaging professionals while providing exceptional patient care and producing high-quality diagnostic images in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Essential Functions
Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.

Is sensitive to the patients’ needs throughout the procedure.

Sufficiently explains procedures to patients and families to facilitate cooperation and alleviate anxiety.

Addresses patient concerns in a professional and compassionate manner.

Performs radiologic exams that produce quality images while ensuring patient and staff safety.

Follows proper protocols, positioning techniques, equipment operation standards, and radiation safety guidelines.

Recognizes emergent patient situations and responds quickly and appropriately.

Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation, including time stamps and image storage.

Coordinates patient care and communicates pertinent information to other patient care providers following procedures.

Maintains a clean, neat, and safe environment for patients and staff.

Ensures supplies and equipment are stored in an organized and efficient manner.

Pursues educational and career development opportunities, particularly those involving new procedures and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled in an accredited

Radiologic Technology program and in the final year of study .

Licensure as a Practical Radiologic Technologist (PRT)/Limited Scope Operator in the state of practice

or

ARRT Board Registry Eligible per state requirements.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.

Competency in at least one of the following areas:
Chest, Extremities, Spine, Skull, Podiatry, Bone Densitometry (DEXA)

Physical Requirements
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
