At Franciscan, our Maternal Fetal Medicine sonographers use ultrasound technology to perform specialized ultrasound imaging for high-risk pregnancies.  In this role you will collaborate with the physician to ensure accurate imaging documentation to support complex maternal and fetal care.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • 4 x 10 hour days. Monday-Thursday 6:45a-5:15p
  • No Holidays, weekends, or call coverage
  • Explain testing procedures to patients and family members to obtain cooperation and reduce anxiety.
  • Prepare, position, observe and care for patients throughout the examination to ensure safety and comfort.
  • Complete all ultrasound examinations, with oversight of a physician.
  • Uses equipment to record images of motion, shapes, and composition of target areas.
  • Ensure the ultrasound images generated are high quality.
  • Adjusts the machine to produce high quality images for physician interpretation, following established best practice protocols.
  • Store images on approved facility approved archiving system.
  • Review test images to check for quality and sufficient coverage.
  • Compares patient’s most recent scans to previous studies and assess diagnostic information.
  • Provide summary findings for physician interpretation.


Qualifications

  • Required Certificate Ultrasound Technology
  • Required Associate's Degree Radiology or Ultrasound
  • 2 years Maternal Fetal Medicine sonography Required or
  • 5 years Ob/Gyn sonography Required
  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
  • Registered Ultrasonographer (ARDMS) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (OB certification perferred)
  • FE - Fetal Echocardiography (preferred)
