Full job description
Position Overview:
The Project Superintendent will oversee daily manufacturing operations, emphasizing safety, quality, and productivity. This role requires a hands-on leader who can monitor employee performance, manage resources efficiently, and ensure production goals are met or exceeded. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing and/or construction processes, team building, and troubleshooting, with the ability to drive continuous improvement on the production floor.

Schedule: 6:00am-4:30pm with OT as necessary
Key Responsibilities:
Safety, Quality, and Productivity:
Enforce a culture of safety and compliance with all safety policies and HAZMAT requirements.
Ensure production output meets or exceeds quality standards while adhering to housekeeping expectations.
Monitor employee productivity and foster continuous improvement through lean manufacturing principles.
Team Leadership:
Build and maintain a high-performing team through coaching, mentoring, and professional development.
Provide constructive feedback and address performance issues with a positive, solution-focused approach.
Develop future leaders by identifying and nurturing internal talent.
Production Oversight:
Prepare and submit daily production reports accurately and on time.
Ensure adherence to manufacturing build schedules and monitor employee time records.
Manage employee hours to optimize productivity and achieve budget goals.
Review production drawings and ensure feasibility before execution.
Problem Solving:
Troubleshoot production issues effectively and implement permanent solutions.
Identify bottlenecks and constraints in the manufacturing process and implement process improvements.
Continuous Improvement:
Drive production efficiency using lean principles to enhance output and reduce waste.
Collaborate with engineering/design and other departments to refine processes and improve workflows.
Operational Excellence:
Spend 90% of time on the production floor to ensure smooth operations and address challenges promptly.
Maintain compliance with all company standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, welding, structural steel processes, and pipe installation is a plus.
Strong understanding of manufacturing process flows and identifying bottlenecks.
Skills:
Hands-on approach to leadership, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Proficient in reading blueprints and schematics.
Fluency in email, spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation software.
Strong interpersonal, leadership, and coaching skills.
Education:
Minimum of a high school education or equivalent.
Trade school completion is preferred but not required.
Job Requirements/Special Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to develop and mentor employees for future leadership roles.
Skilled in plant safety and compliance with HAZMAT requirements.
Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, and high noise levels).
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks such as standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling throughout a shift.
