Qualifications
  • MD or DO from an accredited program
  • Completed Internship and Residency
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Gastroenterology
  • BLS and ACLS required
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state/territory/commonwealth
  • Active DEA registration
  • Minimum 1 year recent Gastroenterology experience
Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage gastroenterological diseases and conditions
  • Perform endoscopic procedures (EGD, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy)
  • Interpret diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging
  • Prescribe medications and treatment plans
  • Admit, manage, and discharge GI patients as appropriate
  • Provide consultations and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Teach patients, families, and medical trainees
  • Complete medical documentation within 72 hours in accordance with Joint Commission standards
  • Participate in peer reviews, staff meetings, clinic operations, and training
  • Support inpatient rounds and emergent care as needed
  • Complete MEB documentation and fitness for duty evaluations as required
