JOB SUMMARY
This role exists to modernize the application portfolio - the single largest source of unrealized value at UVMH and the single largest source of clinician and patient friction. VP Applications owns every application the organization runs: the electronic health record and its clinical, access, and revenue cycle domains; ancillary and specialty systems; IT support of the enterprise resource planning environment spanning finance, supply chain, and human capital; and the several hundred departmental applications currently operating outside any portfolio discipline.
The VP Applications is accountable for three outcomes that are inseparable: clinicians spending less time in the system, the organization collecting more of what it earns, and patients getting in the door faster. The portfolio is currently running behind on version currency, unrationalized in scale, and organized around technical build queues rather than clinical and financial outcomes. This role is chartered to change all three

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in health information technology, Information Systems, Business, Nursing, or a related field is required.  A Master's degree (MHA, MBA, MSN, MSHI) is preferred.

EXPERIENCE
A minimum of ten (10) years of progressive leadership in healthcare applications, including at least five (5) years with system-level or multi-hospital accountability.
