We are looking to expand our team with a talented and energetic Project Engineer in support of development of space vehicles and ground systems for commercial and government customers. This position consists of collaborating with a tightly integrated team in a fast-paced Agile environment to deliver continuous innovation to our customers.
The Engineering Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high impact discriminating technologies for our customers' missions. Our collaborative, cross-functional teams are committed to innovation, integrity, continual learning and strong execution.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $118095 - $200762
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

What You'll Do:
- Cost account management and project engineering. This position is up to 70% management and the remainder technical.
- Work with a team of engineers in the development and execution of complex engineering projects including defining project scope, schedule and budget.
- Develop and implement project plans, resource allocation plans, and risk management plans
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
- Identify and mitigate project risks, and develop contingency plans as needed
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements and ensure customer satisfaction
- Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Prepare and give presentations to peers, management and customers.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
- May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
- May access other facilities in various weather conditions.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 6 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of related experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- A current, active Secret security clearance is required, with the ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI.
- Experience leading teams of 4 or more in the execution of a software development program or project.
- Experience performing agile leadership roles (i.e. Scrum Master, Product Owner, Release Train Engineer).
- Experience managing Earned Value to support cost and schedule baselines (generating BOEs, generating ETCs, writing variance reports, etc).
- Experience authoring sections of proposal volumes (cost or technical).
- Experience with Atlassian Tools such as Confluence and Jira.
- Knowledge of related disciplines in software engineering, hardware engineering, integration, test engineering, quality engineering, configuration/data management.
- Knowledge of systems engineering roles and functions, including operations concept development, requirements management, functional analysis, interface definition and control, synthesis, and/or verification and validation.
- Knowledge of and support various test milestones like Test Readiness Review (TRR), Factory or Site Acceptance Test (FAT/SAT); Security milestones like Interim Authority to Test (IATT), Authority to Operate (ATO); Ground sell-off milestones like Ground Completion Review (GCR).
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Any experience in mission management, command & control, mission data processing, ground terminal and infrastructure domains.
- Any experience with any ground or mission integration including operations readiness activities, rehearsals and launch support activities.
- Any experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Information Assurance (IA) in developing ground systems.
- Experience in cloud development environment.
- Experience with requirements management tool like Jama or DOORS.
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
