Overview:

Position: Travel ED Charge Nurse

Location: Lewiston, Maine

Department: Emergency Services

Shifts Available: Days and Nights

Pay: up to $1,491 –$2,067 gross pay per week; equivalent to $41.44– $57.43 per hour.

Assignment Length: 12 weeks

Responsibilities:
  • Oversees ED operations and nursing staff during assigned shifts.Ensures safe, high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance.
  • Manages staffing, scheduling, and patient assignments.
  • Supervises, coaches, and supports staff development.
  • Assists with performance management and HR-related activities.
  • Monitors supplies, equipment, and unit readiness.Coordinates patient flow, admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Addresses patient care concerns and escalates issues as needed.
  • Rounds with patients and families to support a positive experience.
  • Provides direct patient care when needed to maintain safe staffing levels.
Qualifications:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  1. Current and valid state RN License
  2. Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
  3. Current ACLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
  4. Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting, E.D. setting required.
  5. PALS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
  6. Previous supervisory experience, required.
  7. Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting, E.D. setting required.
