Full job description
Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Manager
Location: Portsmouth, NH. This role follows standard 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday office hours and requires onsite presence and engagement across operational areas. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families.
As the Environment Health Safety (EHS) Manager at our Portsmouth site, you will lead our EHS team and champion local safety programs to ensure a safe, compliant, and thriving working environment. By partnering with cross-functional teams, you will actively reduce risk, improve safety performance, and maintain strict compliance with regulatory requirements. This dynamic role balances strategic leadership, hands-on support, and continuous improvement to protect our people, operations, and the environment. Leveraging an in-depth knowledge of safety regulations, you will solve complex challenges and deliver impactful solutions that directly support the business.

What you will do:
Lead and develop a team of EHS professionals to support site safety performance.
Develop and maintain site safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance and risk reduction.
Partner with teams across the site to support safe operations and drive safety culture.
Lead safety inspections, audits, and regulatory readiness activities.
Conduct and support risk assessments for new processes, equipment, and changes.
Deliver safety training and promote awareness across employees and contractors.
Seek and implement continuous improvement opportunities and work with site leadership to implement.
What we are looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in EHS, engineering, or a science-related field required.
Proven experience in leadership roles with 10+ years of experience in EHS, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or a related environment.
Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., OSHA).
Experience leading safety programs, audits, and risk assessments.
Proven ability to lead teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across all levels.
Comfortable working in operational environments, including occasional physical tasks. such as walking the site, climbing stairs or ladders, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
