Full job description
The Nurse Tech Academy (NTA) is a unique educational opportunity designed to support Nurse Techs and EMTs with the transition to the culture of Cone Health. This 3-week program is developed for Nurse Techs and EMTs to experience didactic, active learning that will prepare them to meet the needs of their various assigned departments.
The curriculum is taught by subject matter experts to provide a rich understanding of relevant content to your practice environment. At the completion of the Academy, all participants will be encouraged to obtain their NT+3 credentials 60-90 days following the program. The plus 3 skills are sterile technique, IV care and Foley catheterization. While this program is ideal for candidates without any hospital experience, it is beneficial for seasoned Nurse Tech's/EMT's who are new to Cone Health.
Your onboarding schedule will be built around the NTA dates, allowing you to coincidingly train in the department you are hired onto when class is not in session. Pay rate and benefits will remain the same during the program. The next NTA is scheduled to start the week of July 27th, 2026. Please see the schedule below. Upon completion of the NT Academy, you will then move to the schedule of your home unit and complete department specific orientation as outlined by your hiring manager.
