Full job description
Responsibilities:
- Assemble electronic components, subassemblies, and systems.
- Test and calibrate electronic assemblies using test equipment and standardized procedures.
- Perform final inspection and prepare electronic products prior to shipment to customers worldwide.
- Test, debug, and repair returned products to meet customer needs.
- Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Sales, and R&D teams to ensure seamless production and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure that work area and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly condition and established company policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Keep workstation, tools, and equipment in a neat and orderly manner.
- Understand and comply with all company safety rules and regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering, Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, or equivalent military training / experience.
- 2+ years' electronic/manufacturing technician experience.
- 2+ years' experience with hand assembly / soldering and component replacement on surface mount and through-hole PCBs.
- 2+ years' experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic assemblies.
- Experience in diagnosing and repairing faults in analog and digital PCBAs using multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other diagnostic tools.
- Experience reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Experience with surface-mount and through-hole soldering and desoldering.
- Experience using software-based diagnostic tools and firmware flashing utilities.
- Due to the nature of UEI's programs and products, applicants must have the legal right to work in the U.S. and additionally must be legally authorized to access export-controlled information and source code.
Desired Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics.
- Ability to use standard bench test equipment (DMM, Scope, etc.).
- Familiarity with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, IPC-1711/7721) for PCB inspection rework.
- Demonstrated ability to isolate component-level failures and perform corrective actions.
- Good verbal communications skills with the ability to interact with members of Operations, Sales & Marketing, Hardware and Software Engineers, and R&D Management team.
