Standard Job Description

Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control is looking for an Associate Manager, Manufacturing Engineering to lead the Tool Planning team (≈6 engineers). The team uses Windchill MPMLink, SAP and Apriso to develop process plans for the fabrication and modification of special tooling-assembly fixtures, drill jigs, mill fixtures, etc.-required to manufacture missiles and missile-launching systems.

Core Responsibilities
  • Lead the tool planning team to deliver special tooling that meet aggressive program and production schedules.
  • Drive continuous-improvement of tooling processes using data-driven analysis, lean principles, and industry best-practice adoption.
  • Provide technical guidance to tool planners.
  • Coordinate cross-functional solutions between Production Operations, Program Engineering, and other stakeholders to resolve tooling challenges.
  • Analyze and resolve programmatic issues, ranging from routine changes to complex, high-risk problems.
  • Work with tool design and operations to support investigations into design, producibility, and assembly challenges and develop corrective action plans.
  • Partner with Global Supply Chain to align procurement with tooling requirements and delivery dates.
  • Maintain transparent communication of key milestones, risks, and status updates to senior leadership and program stakeholders.


Basic Qualifications

  • Experience leading teams
  • Experience working with special tooling (assembly fixtures, drill jigs, mill fixtures, etc.)
  • Proficiency with PLM/ERP systems (e.g., Windchill MPM Link, SAP)
  • Data and process-driven mindset
  • Desire to drive innovation and collaboration

  • Knowledge of manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Cause and Corrective Action
  • Excellent oral and written communication


Desired Skills

  • Final Secret Clearance

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00
