Recovery Equipment Operator

***This position will sit primarily at LaGuardia Airport, East Elmhurst, NY 11371 but support multiple stations in the Northeast US region***
Position Overview:
The Recovery Equipment Operator reports to the Operations Supervisor and/or Station Manager and plays a key role in supporting glycol recovery and processing operations. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and preservation of glycol recovery and recycling equipment while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards and delivering exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):
· Safely operate glycol recovery and processing equipment in accordance with company procedures, airport regulations, and safety standards.
· Collect spent aircraft de-icing fluid (ADF) while minimizing the risk of product loss or environmental release.
· Monitor, inspect, test, and maintain glycol processing and recycling systems to ensure optimal performance and production efficiency.
· Perform product quality assurance, glycol and water sampling, testing, documentation, and reporting in accordance with company SOPs and regulatory requirements.
· Complete preventive maintenance and repairs, including replacing components, installing valves, meters, sensors, and performing plumbing and equipment modifications as directed.
· Conduct truck transfer operations, including loading and unloading tankers and transferring fluid between storage tanks.
· Support glycol recovery activities and maintain all company-owned equipment, tools, and materials in clean, safe, and operational condition.
· Work collaboratively with airport authorities, contractors, and team members while adhering to security escort procedures and representing the company professionally.
Drive company vehicle off airport property, to pick up spare parts and supplies as directed by management.
Required Skills and Experience:
· Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
· Successful completion of all required classroom and on-the-job training programs.
· Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively in English and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and procedures.
· Strong basic math skills, including the ability to calculate rates, ratios, percentages, and measurements.
· Mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely use hand tools and perform equipment maintenance tasks.
· Basic knowledge of vehicle operations and the ability to safely operate motor vehicles in varying weather conditions.
· Positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, ability to remain calm under pressure, and driving record that meets company insurance requirements.
Additional Info:
· Valid driver's license required.
CDL required
· This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
· Work is performed in office, warehouse, and outdoor airport environments with exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, dirt, fuel, fumes, humidity, and heavy equipment.
· Requires prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and using hands to operate tools and equipment.
· May be required to work at heights of up to 40 feet and lift up to 50 pounds.
· Schedule will be determined in coordination with the Manager and/or Supervisor upon hire.
· No travel is anticipated for this position.
· Must be able to obtain and maintain all required airport security clearances, including Transportation Security Clearance, Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC), and any security credentials required by Transport Canada, TSA, or local airport authorities, and successfully pass pre-employment background screenings.
